The new façades are defined by carefully detailed brickwork combined with glazed block and metal framing, creating rhythm, texture and a strong urban frontage along Bride Street and Peter Street.
The bricks Irene and Treviso were chosen for its ability to mediate between the Brutalist legacy of Sam Stephenson’s original structure and the finer grain of the surrounding historic city fabric. Its tonal variation and depth give permanence to the elevations, while crisp coursing and detailing emphasise solidity and craft. This considered use of brick anchors the hotel within its heritage-rich context while presenting a bold, modern identity for citizenM in Dublin.
